Second-grade classes had a special visit from local firefighters. The children learned about fire safety and some of the equipment that firefighters use in their job. They also had a chance to see one of the firefighters dressed up in full gear! Thanks to Mr. Haydel from Mrs. Callahan's class for setting up this wonderful opportunity for the students. It was a great companion event to "Fighting the Fire," which is a story in the second-grade reading book.
